Ideas for Volunteering as a Family
You may spend a lot of time at home with your family watching direct.tv satellite movies but that doesn’t mean you can’t give back in other ways. If you relish your family time and don’t want to be apart while you’re free consider giving back in these kid-friendly ways…
Go to a Shelter: If your kids like animals take the whole family to a shelter for clean up and playtime. You’re guaranteed to have the warm and fuzzies when you leave and you may keep some furry friends alive longer just by helping.
Pick Up Trash: If you live somewhere rural take the kids out to collect trash on a one-mile stretch of road. Be sure to wear bright colors and talk to everyone about car safety before you go.
Nursing Home: Encourage your kids to head to a nursing home to visit the elderly. They love to play board games, be read to and even just sat with and your kids will really feel like they’ve made an impact at the end of the day.
Congratulations for even considering volunteering as a family…that’s a great step!
